Many methods are available to produce less waste when it comes to offset printing, and currently digital printing is almost waste-free already. Printers, for example, can combine their ink for brief offset printing runs; if a press operator only requires a few ounces of any specific colour, they can produce it on their own rather than making a purchase from an ink company, saving on costs and materials.
One way whereby waste is greatly reduced is through the use of digital print on-demand services. Small batch printing on demand results in less wasted products and greater flexibility. It's a win-win situation for you as well as the world!
Using green energy sources such as wind, solar, and biogas, a renewable fuel derived from food and animal waste, is one of the best ways to help the climate. These forms do not pollute the environment and help to keep it clean. Some printers are transitioning to more eco friendly energy sources.
Most printers now use less electricity, whether they use green energy or not. There are eco-friendly printing machines, and digital printing is now a low-energy process. Look for a printer that uses Energy Star or low-power optical presses. Some printing presses also utilize heat from the printing process to preheat the paper, reducing energy consumption even more.
Another excellent environmentally friendly printing approach that saves electricity is to use field delivery wherever possible. This uses less electricity than moving by rail, making it a more environmentally friendly form of getting your printed goods to their destination.
Nowadays, printers can use ink with fewer chemicals. Some offset printers now use soy and vegetable-based inks rather than oil-based inks. Some digital printing presses, such as KonicaMinolta, now use biodegradable toner made from plant-based materials. Fewer chemicals is better for the environment!
Using fewer chemicals doesn’t stop with ink. Some printers use a chemistry-free metal plate machine to make plates for offset printing. Older equipment produced liquid waste that needed professional reprocessing, but some newer equipment does not produce any toxic byproducts.
Recycling is important in all industries, but it is especially important in the printing industry. There are more forms of recycled paper available today than ever before. There is still a recycled paper that appeals for you and your budget, ranging from 10% to 30% to 100% post-consumer waste papers to alternative papers crafted of hemp, straw, or supply remains.
However, using recycled paper materials is just half the equation: you must still compost your own materials! Paper and cardboard can be reused, but did you know that most other printing materials, such as metal printing plates and optical toner cartridges, can also be recycled? Discuss with your printer which things they recycle and why. Their responses can surprise you!
Printers have changed with the wind as more people recognize the importance of environmentally sustainable printing methods. Your printer should be able to answer all of your questions, clarify their eco-conscious processes, and provide you with resources to help you print in an environmentally friendly manner. Ask your printer if you have any concerns about how to make your printed documents more environmentally friendly!

Choosing from the different forms of paper on the market is an important element in achieving high-quality digital printing. You must choose the paper form ideally suited to carrying out the visual and textual contents of your publication or graphic design project, a decision that should be taken with caution and can vary based on the type of product you want to print.
Choosing from the various paper forms available can be difficult when confronted with a vast array of papers, each with a unique set of properties. Each paper type has a weight, a processing type, and a finish that determines its clarity, appearance, weight, thickness, level of opaqueness, feel, and longevity.
In this article, we will look at some of the various weights available on the market, the preferred applications for each, and the most popular paper styles to help you select the paper type that better fits your digital printing needs.
The logical meaning of weight, or grammage, is "the heaviness of a piece of paper with a surface region of one square meter"; all in all, it estimates the weight-to-territory proportion of the paper. It is said something grams per square meter (gsm) or basically in grams (g) and is utilized to separate between various assortments of paper available, just as a few different attributes.
Photocopy paper (also recognized as ‘uncoated paper') has a weight ranged from 6 gsm to 90 gsm, whereas paperboard has a mass varying from 150 gsm to 350 gsm. The grammage influences the paper's texture and level of clarity, which would be lower if you select a heavier weight paper.
Distinguishing between the weight of the paper and the thickness/calliper of the sheet is an important aspect. A higher weight usually corresponds to thicker paper, while other factors such as the type of processing, wood fibre content and additives do affect this too:

Additives:
Depending on the type of processing and the paper’s composition, it is obvious that two sheets can have different thickness even if they weigh the same.
Depending on what is being printed, be it business cards, advertising displays or flyers, each product has a recommended weight. If the wrong type of paper is used, the end product would not be ideal.
Paper types range from 90-gsm to 380-gsm, and each type serves a different purpose and is most suitable for different types of printing.

]]>Dye ink employs colorants that are dissolved in a solvent, while pigment ink employs tiny color particles suspended in a suspension. The water soluble dye can be visualized as sugar that dissolves in water, while the pigments can be visualized as sand mixed in water.
Advantages of dye inks
Dye-based inks will have a larger colour space for more vivid and colourful prints, but they will wash off unless printed on special coated mark paper. As long as the sticker does not come into contact with something abrasive, the print is water-resistant. The original print consistency of dye and pigment inks is almost similar. The vibrancy and colour reproduction seem to be very similar. When comparing consistency and not looking side by side, it is difficult to distinguish between dye and pigment ink.
Advantages of Pigment Inks
Pigment ink has superior UV resistance and is thus used where several years of indoor and outdoor use. Pigment-based inks use solid particles of pigment powder suspended throughout the ink itself. This pigment is more stable than dye-based inks because it prevents fading for a longer period of time and does not smudge as much while drying. This makes it the ideal ink to use for documents (particularly photos) that must be stored in an archive. Inks based on pigments are ideal for printing on slicker surfaces such as transparencies and stickers. However, in comparison of dye-ink, they are not as vibrant in colours which sometimes it’s difficult to determine using the naked eye.
In conclusion, both pigment and dye inks are both great of each use. However, to optimize the type of usage of ink, printing of artworks and pictures are recommended for using the dye inks where as pigment inks are recommended for documents.

It is clear that the printing industry is transforming mostly because of digital advances. But what could carry the future? Modern technology has transformed the contact world over the last few decades. Print media has been King for years.
From the polished, sparkling celebrity magazines to the pocket-sized brochure that heralded the launch of a new company, things have undergone a big transformation. It might appear like printing is breathing its last, but that's not the case.
Of course, the only constant factor is transition, and even though printing is not going to die out, businesses should face more difficulties. So what are the challenges and changes printing companies have to be ready for?
The world is not about to go paperless
The planet isn't going to become paperless. The death trumpets for print media have been sounding since the first screen was illuminated. But, thankfully, it's an end that hasn't turned up. The screens threatened to dethrone paper, but our reliance on it is so rooted that we still have a decent road to go before that could happen.
Although businesses like Yellow Pages have declared their removal from the use of printed telephone directories, there are still many aspects of life that cannot exist without printing on paper. Contracts and other formal records are still, for even the most part, expected to be printed. At EazyPrintz, we offer printing services such as xerox printing, custom canvas prints, custom advertising posters, business cards and more from as low as a dollar for a xerox printing.
Hardware printing can be simplified
Technology does not have to replace everything entirely. In most cases, it has only altered them, making them smaller and more intuitive to use. Take the computer itself, for example. When it first came onto the scene, it was a diabolical combination of cogs and levers that would fill up an entire room. Technological advancements have been able to fit even more computing power right into your hands. The same is to be experienced with offset and digital printers. While they will not go away, they will be influenced by the digital world. As of now, most printing companies in Singapore will have printers that can be fed instructions via a touch panel instead of clumsy buttons. However due to the current covid-19 situation and PDPA purposes, our staffs are always ready to expedite the prints for you!
Printers will be part of the ‘Internet of Things (IoT)
There's also another face of technology that's getting bolder and craftier by the day. It is called the Internet of Things, where all users are able to tap into a single central database of information. This would be another means for printing machinery to adjust. You will be able to plug into the cloud and collect printing information and directions from there.
Future of printing in the business
The largest portion of income in the printing industry has been for corporate promotion purposes. Companies relied on digital and offset printers to bulk posters, catalogues, and publicity brochures. Although technology continues to shift the role of these products in the branding of company arsenals, they remain effective.
